Golden-cheeked Warbler - searching.
Price: SOLD
Description: Original oil painting – 11” w x 14 ht.
Last summer during a camping trip at South Llano River State Park (Texas), I spotted this Golden-cheeked warbler sitting in a tall Juniper tree. I had a good view of his throat and golden cheek as he glanced at something above him. I enjoyed the composition and arrangement of colors as he serenely searches the sky above him. Perhaps he is wondering where he will go next as he is slowly pushed out of his native Texas environment by over zealous developers.
I created the background by splattering paint with bristle brush. Using a combination of yellow, purple, blue and red splattered paint, I was able to create a unique green background with an amazing depth. This is actually a study for a larger painting I have planned. I wanted to see how everything works before tackling the larger size. The paint style is looser than I normally create – perhaps this is my style of abstract art.
Title: Golden-cheeked Warbler - searching.
Painted on traditional ¾” thick canvas, staple free edge is suitable for hanging with or without framing. The edge is currently unpainted. Ships in flat container.
